Halloween Outing at the Park

Happy Halloween everyone!

Recently, a group of foreigners have organized a series of events at a park here in Taichung, especially for their kids and I have begun to participate in a few (now that I have a kid). Most of us are interracial marriages, but the activities are open to anyone that wants to show up.

Mostly it is organized chaos, especially since there are so many kids running around (and all the parents are hoping that 'other' people are watching their kids....haha.

Anyway, there was a Halloween gathering on Saturday and since Taiwan does not have a Halloween (except in a few Westernized schools), we decided to head out and armed with only minimal prep, we faked Halloween costumes like the best of them...

...we had fun and the kids did, too!

Trying to figure out what all the fuss is about.

My hands are dirty!

We stole another friend's Panda hat....

But we had other plans....Right, Captain Sparrow?

Let's get the facial hair right, eh?

There we go (as best as I could do without putting him in a choke hold to keep him still...)

Sage, this is your dagger. Kill well with it...

Now, your bow and arrows and, most importantly, dad's old sunglasses...

Argh, ye mateys!

Nope, the glasses got the axe early on

But now we are ready

Most pirates have their trusty parrot; but Sage has his trusty penguin...for those antarctic adventures...

Ooh, a little more 'cool' time

Holy cow! Someone shot me!

Oh, it was only dad...

Lemme see that...

Dad, come here a minute, will you?

Dang, I missed...

This time....

Drat, missed again.

Thank goodness these are tasty

What do we have here?

Hi

Mom. don't kiss the pirate!

Ooh, now it is time for the pinatta

Afterward madness

In the shuffle

Ok, buddy, we scored some candy; let's go back to our ship...

Some Vids

Hope you all have a safe and fun Halloween!

BOO!

Next year, we will try for this:

Sage, the Garden Gnome

(It will be sure to cause severe psychological trauma later in life, but who cares?)
