When we first got there, a small ceremony ensued and Sage was treated like a Little King and was gifted some special necklaces and gifts.
He didn't really know what was going on (nor did Daddy, really), but I explained to him that the 2 necklaces with bags contained money and that special golden spoon is a traditional gift to give a newborn child (especially boy). I had to tell him that it was real gold!
Now, it was time for the Passing of the Child, and Ah Ma and Aunt Julia (Jo's sister) each got a chance to hold him. We don't know why, but he immediately took a liking to Ah Ma and kept looking at her and smiling (which made Ah Ma very happy!).
Even Aunt Julia got a few smiles, as well!
Ya Wen had a knack for massaging Sage, so he immediately fell asleep.
After awhile, the pro had to step in and show them how to do it.....
Do you like Jo's new "I'm 15 Years Old" look?
Anyway, there will be plenty more visits North to see Sage's Taiwanese family.
