We got started off very early from Taiwan and are waiting to catch our Japan flight at the airport. We found this play area to spend some of the time recouping from a very early rise.
We arrived in Japan in time for lunch, but afterwards we were all exhausted....
I fell asleep soon after this....
BUT....! Now we arrived in Gettysburg (after 14 hours from getting on the plane to arriving at the house). We were all exhausted - even though the flight was good and Sage was very good - but we must have all gotten our second wind since Sage was very happy to explore his new surroundings for about 4 more hours. One of the first things he did was to get up on Grampa's tractor!
Then we had to find other things to do (since he could not move the tractor by himself)
and other things to see
and swing on
and visit
and run around to...
But by this point, jet lag was catching up to us and we took a break. There would be a lot more time to explore later.
And Sage started off early, heading to the dirt mound all prepped
Then we did a bit of ball kicking
and weed catching
Oh, but what is this? Grampa started the tractor and all priorities shifted to one thing: Driving!
Sage is a natural...
Ah! Another time on the dirt mound (this time so mom won't fret so much about him getting dirty)
Sage also discovered a little friend living in one of Grampa's bushes that we could see most mornings - and he was eager to see him each time.
Some more ball playing with Gramma
And some driving in style (but not as cool as the tractor)
Now, some down time reading with Gramma
And of course, eating is always important
We went to a park nearby with swings, river and many rocks....bliss!
Gramma and Sage got a lot of her hand made ABC felt book.
These were lollipops but to Sage they were mini balloons
And of course the ladybug (his favorite was J for Jelly beans and we ended up making him a personal jelly bean jar with many jelly beans!)
Pop! goes the Sage
Don't sit down too long Gramma,
We got many things to do - come on!
At a park
Hmmm, now this is more like it! At the Land of Little Horses park
Sage was not too sure about the animals there - he preferred to stick to the tractors...
There. Much better
Now for a little slide
and a swing..
But let's head back to the good stuff, eh?
Oh, this is interesting....
And one of the requirements of being in Gettysburg is to of course see the Battlefield. I am sure Sage will enjoy this at some point, but this time, he did not appreciate it too much.
He did get some good luck by picking this guy's nose - the tradition states you rub it, but Sage wanted to be extra sure
Now we are back to the good stuff! Farmer Sage
And Grampa!
Everyone gets a chance to drive it
Comfortable in the back
Another of Sage's loves - Fire trucks! We stopped by the fair sponsored by the Gburg Fire Station
Another day of just relaxing and eating
and playing
Oh, what is this? Mom is making Sage's tractor cake
Grampa and Sage having a man to man chat...
Happy 2nd Birthday Sage!
Yum
Now is time for a little pillow rustling
Sage has been caught!
There were balloons scattered around and we were worried they would pop. Jo is prepared.
