Forts, Fights and Science

Might as well update some more....

Doing the pillow fort thing...

Now onto the good stuff - soldier wars!
(we use a large dice to flick on the ground to knock them down)

Thanx Grampa for allowing Sage to enjoy the Civil War era...

Now onto some science!
We have 2 excellent kid science books with tons of simple experiments and Sage and I love to do them in our free time (between playing games and reading).
Just flicking through is great and he recently saw something about comets and their impacts
(he also knows something about what happened to the dinos...)
So we decided to get ready.

aquarium rocks all level and flat

test 1 - low height, small rock

 impact crater

Test 2 - medium height, small rock

 bigger impact crater

Test 3 - Getting higher!

"Did you see that?" impact crater

Test 4 - highest height, small rock

 "hmm bigger!" impact crater

Now onto the bigger rock with the same heights. Test 1b
What will happen, Sage?
The crater will bump bigger.
Yup.

 impact crater

 Test 2b

 "wow, bigger!" impact crater

 Test 3b

"Daddy, I see the white!" impact crater

 Test 4b

"Wo ho! Did you see that?" impact crater

 Test 5b

"Yeah!" impact crater

Ok, that is it for now.

Sage's Art Pics - for Happy Easter and Happy Children's Day!

We don't celebrate Easter here, and personally  I never really got into it, but hey, this weekend are coincidentally 2 holidays - Children's Day and Tomb Sweeping Day (which come to think of it is related to Easter...), so Sage did not have school on Friday and will not on this coming Monday.

So to celebrate 3 holidays, I decided to put up some of Sage's art pics that he has been doing recently.  Sage goes to 2 different classes/teachers and loves them.  The teachers help more than perhaps Western art teachers, but both teachers are really nice and love kids (which is often not the case...).

Anyway, here are some pics that we have scattered around the house.

The Titles are all his own words (mostly)!

Enjoy and Happy 3 Celebrations Weekend!
